Hi former and new participants, I sent out a message to those who previously participated in our gatherings and research about getting together again.  I've heard back from several folks who expressed an interest.  My suggestion for a place was Augusta GA since it is sort of central for all of us.  Remember, we have folks now through the DNA project that live in VA, NC, AL, GA, and SC.  Having grown up in south GA I know how hot it can get in the Summer so I'm thinking some time in the Fall.

I contacted the Augusta Genealogy Society and they have a library.  I would like to go early and do some research at their library and at the Richmond County Public Library.  The Genealogy folks tell me if enough folks are interested they will open on Thursday just for us.  Details on this and other possibilities later.  Anyway, I want to be sure I reach as many of our folks as possible.  So, please, let me know if you receive this message even if you are not interested in coming.  Next, I will try the postal mail route for those who don't respond.

For your information -- on our DNA site we have identified folks who match and descend from the following CLARKs based on their research

    1.  Robert Clark born 1630 - 1560 who died in 1722 - 1723 in Surry Co. VA

    2.  John Clark born Sept. 28, 1768 who died March 20, 1827 in Laurens Co. GA

    3.  Henry Clark who was born abt. 1760 and died 1843 in Montgomery Co., GA.

    4.  Drury Clark who whose parents lived in Brunswick Co. VA and who died 1799 in Charleston, SC.

    5.  Cornelius Clark born Oct. 8, 1763 in Scotland who died Oct. 21, 1828 in Madison Co., AL.

This could be a time of sharing and research.  Let me hear from those who have not already responded.  Also, those of you who did respond -- send me your ideas and suggestions.  I think we can arrange to get a discount at a motel if we have a large enough group.  You might want to visit the websites for the public library and the genealogy society library.  Here are their addresses:  www.ecgrl.org/genealogy for public library -- www.Augustagensociety.org for genealogy society.

Look forward to hearing from you.  Sandy
